Smooth logistics make for an unforgettable mountain journey. Here is everything you need to know about arrival transfers, luggage storage, and gear prep.
1. Getting to Lombok
There are two primary gateways:
- By Flight: Fly directly into Lombok International Airport (LOP) from Jakarta, Bali, or Kuala Lumpur. Private car transfer to Senaru or Sembalun takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours.
- By Fast Boat: Arrive at Bangsal Harbour from Bali (Padang Bai) or the Gili Islands. Driving time to Senaru is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
2. Day 0: Arrival & Rest
We advise booking flights to arrive at least one day before your climb. Tranom Trekking provides private pick-up and drop-off anywhere in Lombok, with 1 night of hotel accommodation before starting your trek.
3. What to Pack in Your Daypack
Our porters carry campsite tents, cooking equipment, sleeping bags, and food. You only need to carry personal essentials:
- Sturdy, broken-in trekking shoes with good grip.
- Warm windproof jacket, fleece layer, and rain poncho.
- Headlamp with extra batteries for the 2:00 AM summit climb[cite: 1].
- Sun protection (hat, UV sunglasses, sunscreen 50+).
- Swimwear for the hot springs at Segara Anak Lake[cite: 1].
- Personal medications and blister band-aids.
